Things you do outside the app: enabling live streaming on your channel, setting up a shared channel for your group, and taking the app's access away from your Google Account when you no longer need it.
1. Enable live streaming on your channel
Every YouTube channel starts with live streaming switched off. Until you switch it on, Emdalex Streams cannot create streams for the channel — the app shows “Live streaming is not enabled yet” and brings you here. This is a one-time step for each channel (your own, or a group channel), done on the YouTube website.
You need a YouTube channel on the Google account you sign in with. If you have never used YouTube with this account, the first visit to YouTube Studio creates the channel for you — just confirm the name.
Steps
On a computer or in the phone's browser, sign in to YouTube with the same Google account you use in the app. If you stream to a group channel, switch to that channel first: click your picture (top right) → Switch account → the channel.
Click Create (top right, the camera icon) → Go live. On a phone: tap Create → Go live in the YouTube app.
YouTube asks you to verify a phone number: enter it, then the code from the SMS. This proves the channel belongs to a real person; the number is not shown anywhere.
After verification YouTube shows a countdown — “Only 23:59 until you can stream”. Live streaming becomes available on the channel within 24 hours. You can close the page; there is nothing else to do.
After the wait
Open Emdalex Streams again and press Stream or schedule a stream — it now works. No need to sign out or reinstall.
If it still does not work after 24 hours
Check that you signed in to the app with the same channel you enabled streaming for: the side menu shows the channel name at the top.
Open YouTube Studio → Go live once more: if you see the Live Control Room instead of a countdown, streaming is enabled. If YouTube shows a restriction notice instead, the channel has a strike or is not in good standing — the notice explains what to do.
Channels must meet YouTube's live-streaming rules: no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days, and the account holder must be at least 18 (or 13 with a verified parent).
2. Create a YouTube channel for your group
A group (a family, a team, a class) streams to one shared YouTube channel. Each member signs in to Emdalex Streams with their own Google account and simply picks the group channel — nobody shares a password. The channel is a YouTube Brand Account; the person who creates it is its owner and can add and remove members at any time.
Do this once, on a computer, in a web browser. It takes about ten minutes, plus a one-time wait of up to 24 hours before YouTube allows the new channel to stream.
Step 1 — Create the channel
Go to youtube.com and sign in with the Google account that will own the group channel (yours, if you are the coach or the parent).
Click Create a channel, enter the group's name (for example Smith Family or Tuesday Swim Group) and click Create. You can leave the picture and the handle as they are.
Step 2 — Enable live streaming on the channel
While the new channel is selected, follow chapter 1: YouTube Studio → Go live, phone verification, then up to 24 hours before the channel can stream. Until then the app cannot create streams on this channel.
Step 3 — Make sure members are managed through Google Account
YouTube has two ways to give people access to a channel. Only one of them works with apps like Emdalex Streams: Brand Account managers, added on myaccount.google.com/brandaccounts. People invited through YouTube Studio → Settings → Permissions can use the channel on the YouTube website only, not from the app.
If you see a Manage Permissions button under Users, go to Step 4.
If there is no such button, the channel was created on the newer permissions system. Switch it back: open studio.youtube.com → Settings (bottom left) → Permissions → Opt out of permissions in YouTube Studio and confirm. Reload the Brand Accounts page — Manage Permissions is now there.
Step 4 — Invite the members
On the channel's Brand Account page click Manage Permissions.
Click the invite icon (a person with a plus sign), enter the member's Google e-mail address and choose the role Manager. Repeat for each member, then click Invite.
Each member receives an e-mail from Google and must click Accept in it. Until they do, the channel does not appear for them in the app.
Roles. A Manager can stream, watch and delete streams — the right role for members. An Owner can also add and remove people; give it only to a second adult you trust. To remove someone later, open the same page and click the cross next to their name.
Step 5 — Sign in on the phones
On each phone, open Emdalex Streams. If the app is already signed in to a personal channel, open the side menu and tap Log Out.
Tap Sign in with Google and choose your own account.
On the next screen, Choose your account or a brand account, tap the group channel, not your personal profile.
Enter your name when the app asks — it is added to your streams so the group can tell whose stream is whose.
Everyone who signs in this way sees the same lists: what is scheduled, who is on air (the Live tab) and all recordings. Streams are unlisted by default, so only people with the link — in practice, the group — can watch them.
3. Remove Emdalex Streams's access to your Google Account
When you signed in for the first time, Google asked you to allow Emdalex Streams to manage your YouTube account. If you stop using the app — or simply want to tidy up your account — you can take that permission away. The app keeps nothing anywhere else, so this is all there is to remove.
On your iPhone
Open Safari and go to myaccount.google.com/connections. Sign in if asked. (The same page is reachable from the Google or Gmail app: tap your picture → Manage your Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services.)
In the list of connected apps, tap Emdalex Streams.
Tap Delete all connections you have with Emdalex Streams (on some accounts the button reads Remove access), then Confirm.
If you use a group channel, the app appears once per Google account, not per channel — removing it disconnects both your personal channel and the group channel.
Then, in the app
Open the side menu and tap Log Out. This removes the saved sign-in from the phone.
To also remove the name you entered and your settings, delete the app: press and hold its icon → Remove App → Delete App.
What is not affected
Your streams and recordings stay on YouTube — they belong to your channel, not to the app. Manage or delete them in YouTube Studio at any time. If you later sign in to Emdalex Streams again, Google will simply ask for the permission once more.
